Downloading data from Twitter

Bionic enables you to manage the performance of your Twitter advertising campaigns. In order to do all of its amazing calculations, Bionic needs the raw performance data from Twitter.  To download your Twitter data:

  1. Sign in to your Twitter ads account at
  2. On the homepage, scroll down to your list of campaigns and select the appropriate campaign
  3. Once on that campaign’s page, specify your reporting timeframe using the drop-down calendar in the upper right
  4. Click on the ‘Ads’ tab
  5. Click the ‘Metrics’ drop-down menu and select Customize metrics...
  6. This will bring up a new window where you can select the metrics you want to track. You must include the Tweet ID field for the report to upload to Bionic correctly. Currently Bionic tracks the following metrics:
    • Link clicks
    • total conversions (this has since been removed from Twitter, but Bionic can still track the metric from old reports)
    • Currency
    • Tweet engagements
    • Follows
    • Impressions
    • Leads
    • Likes
    • Spend
    • Replies
    • Retweets
    • Unfollows
    • Media views
  7. Save this set of custom metrics as Bionic Export so you can easily apply the set to all future campaigns
  8. Hit Save and your metrics should now look something like this:
  9. Click the ‘Export’ button and select: Export Data.
  10. This will bring up the Export window. Under Breakdown select Daily.
  11. Click the ‘Download’ button.
  12. Edit the Date Format in Excel.
    • Select the cells with Time Periods
    • Select ‘More Number Formats’ from the pictured drop-down menu
    • Set your date format to the same settings as the image below.
  13. Save the report.
