What are custom columns?
What if you have a particular code tied to a placement? Want to identify Tactic? Or need to document an Issue Date? What about order or financial statuses? Maybe you even want to include invoice amounts and numbers?
Custom columns give you the control to expand the data you track for each placement based on what YOU need to see. Custom columns can be established to track Text, Dates, Picklists, Numbers (summed or not), and Money. You can then use this data for tracking, reporting, and exporting for use in other systems if you wish.
Managing custom columns
Custom columns can be managed at an organizational level, or can be added by anyone as you go. It is best practice to setup known custom columns for your organization to help establish clear standards out of the gate. However, users can create and edit custom columns as needed.

How custom columns work
For each advertiser, you can establish which custom columns are applicable to that advertiser. For example, if you need to track Product for a particular Advertiser, you set that custom column as a default for that Advertiser. Every time a Campaign gets created for that Advertiser, the Product custom column will be automatically included.
For each campaign, you can override the Advertiser defaults by adding or removing specific custom columns applicable to that campaign.
Within media plans, if specific custom columns are not applicable for an individual placement, you can opt to exclude it for that placement.
Once the data is present in your media plans, it will be included your media plans, authorizations, and other reporting.
Money Columns and Other Columns
Custom columns are broken out as Other Columns and Money Columns.
Money columns represent any monetary values you need to track that are not intended as part of the cost breakout. Money data can be entered as a literal value, or setup as a calculated field based on costs.

Other columns can be setup to represent Text, Date, Picklist, and Number data.
