Flowcharts can be used for a variety of purposes - timing, tactics, KPIs, and investments of a media plan just to name a few. With flexible customization options, you can create beautiful flowcharts to get these views quickly.
Most custom options are available through the Customize View button.
In the Customize View options, you will be able to adjust Date Range, Calendar Type, Time Scale, Group By, Color Coding, Display Values and more.
The Date Range option will enable you to limit the time frame data is reported for. You can also control the calendar type between Standard and Broadcast.
Click on the Any Time button to access the controls
You can use the pre-set time frame options, or enter custom dates.
Standard calendar = Displays the typical Sunday through Monday, 1st-31st calendar presentation
Broadcast calendar = Displays a broadcast calendar presentation Monday through Sunday. When used in conjunction with a Monthly Time Scale, calendar will break out broadcast months & weeks.
Choose to break the calendar out by Week, Month, Quarter, or Year. Use the option appropriate based on the range of dates identified and how you want to break out totals.
When monthly is selected in combination with Broadcast calendar, it will break data out by month and broadcast week.
You are able to select up to 2 levels of grouping.
Choose the field for each of the Group By drop downs. If you only want 1 level of grouping, select None in the 2nd menu.
The color coding option enables you to include colors based on the unique value of a particular field. For example, you may want to color code by Channel to make them stand out, or by Bucket to quickly see how placements translate to budgets.
Once you have selected a field to color code by, you can identify the colors to use.
Show Color Coding Labels Above Bars - This option will instruct the flowchart to display the color code values, which is typically recommended as it serves as the legend.
If you would like to change the colors representing values, click on the Color box.
Select from color chart, or use the hex code to use a specific color.
Display Values are additional data points you may want to include in your flowchart, such as Net Media Cost or various KPI quantities. You can add as many display values as you wish, or remove them completely.
Choose from various monetary values such as Gross Media Cost, Total Cost, Production Costs, etc or KPI metrics such as impressions, clicks, or spots. Report performance data by using Planned and Actual KPI data values.
Adding Display Values
By default, 2 display values are included: Net Media Cost - Planned and Quantity Planned (based on rate type). You may change these values by selecting different values in their place. However, you can also add more values as needed.
Click the + Display Value option to add another line.
Select the desired value from the menu.
Removing Display Values
You can also remove individual display values as needed.
Click on the X next to the line you want to remove.
Based on which value you selected for each line, you can move them around to keep related data values together.
Hover over the line number you want to move and click to drag to where you want it displayed.
There are times when displaying placement details is helpful. And other times you may want summarized information reported based on how you have grouped your data.
When this option is selected, each placement will be displayed in the flowchart output.
When deselected, no placements will be presented. Totals will roll up based on the grouping you selected.
If you do not include grouping, only totals will show based on the Display Values you identified.
The Placement Text option handles instances where placement names may exceed the space provided.
Show Single Line will limit the display to a single line and use ... to indicate more text exists.
If you select the Wrap Multiple Lines, placement names that exceed a single line will wrap to the next line, enabling you to see the entire text.
Once you have made the appropriate customizations, press Apply to update your view.
